February 08 and Maui Pics

Posted by lucy_gerston at 07:55 AM on March 1, 2008.

Happy almost Spring...
This month was pretty much dominated by our trip to Hawaii, and the pictures show it. Lucy has a come a long way since her first trip to Maui two years ago: she's no longer afraid of the beach and the waves, and she pretty much wanted to live in the pool and the ocean. She's finally becoming the mermaid she's always dreamed of being...(is that webbing growing in her toes?) She also loved the Luau we went to, and has been reenacting her own form of the Hula since we've come home...we may be required (doomed) to go to Luaus on all our future Hawaiian trips.
Molly is nearly walking and nearly talking, and has developed this hilarious little sneer/smile that charms everyone she graces with it...you'll see it in a few pics. She did very well on the trip, pretty much adjusting to things with ease, though getting sunscreen on her was a lot like what it must be to prepare the greased pig at state fair catch-the-pig events.
Lucy liked Hawaii so much she didn't want to come home...we all understood. All I can offer you are the pictures, some in Seattle, most in Hawaii, here:

If you really like those, and are having a lazy day and want to see more, there are more here:

Enjoy and I hope everyone has a great March (the Cronks will: they are going to the same beach on Maui this month...)

March Pictures

Posted by lucy_gerston at 12:49 PM on March 28, 2008.

Hello Everyone,
I'm posting the March pictures a little early because we're headed to Utah where, among other things, we'll be celebrating Molly's first birthday on April 4th…among the Hoodoo's of Bryce Canyon. Not a bad place to turn one.

Speaking of Molly, she took her first steps on her own this month…she'll be walking momentarily; and she's certainly turning into a complete goof. Her sense of humor is developing nicely. Exhibit A: the picture of her brushing her hair.

Lucy is primarily living in Princess Land these days. It's dresses only (except for soccer) and her motto seems to be "if a princess can do it, so can I" which we work in our favor when possible: "Lucy, princesses use a fork…" etc. Also, I'm not the only one shooting pictures of Lucy. Alex, our babysitter, used Lucy as her subject for a Portrait series in her High School photography class, and there's a shot of the two of them (Model and Artist) in front of the display at the "photo show."

This month includes shots of various grandparent visits and cuddles, play time in the park, lots of stuff around the house, and Easter pictures. I hope you enjoy them. Have a great Spring Break (for those of you who get it) and we'll see you when we get back from the canyons.
