April was another active and fun month. Lucy traveled to new places (the Quinault Rainforest), visited old haunts (the San Juans) and hung out a lot with friends and especially grandparents. She continues to launch herself up the stairs whenever she thinks we're not watching. She's fast: she rolled over and darted away from her mother during a diaper change, naked butt flashing across the living room. The various sounds, laughs and dances she does keep us highly entertained.

Our family also wanted to welcome Frederick Barraclough to Dom and Amy's family, born April 24th. Congratulations!

Lucy's fast approaching her first birthday, and although we can hardly believe it, she's changed a lot since last June (as you can see for yourself!). Her language and coordination are changing daily - she stands without holding on to anything regularly (and pretends it's no big deal), she said "DADDY!" very clearly on Curt's birthday (a great gift!), and she dances on command, whether or not there's any music playing. The only things that aren't developing are her teeth - she's still only got two! It doesn't stop her from chewing everything in sight.
