Hi All,

I skipped a month, which I rarely do, but March didn't see too many pics anyway.  April, however, was another story:  we began with a trip to Elkhorn Ranch in Arizona, which, by the way, is one of the greatest places to spend a week in the world.  Even if you don't love horses, it's one of the most beautiful and relaxing vacation spots I've ever been to.  Take my advice, and treat yourself to a vacation there one day.  The desert flowers in the Spring are amazing.
It was Molly's and Lucy's first trip there, and we got to hang out with cousins, grandparents, lots of kids on Spring Break, and of course horses.  While we were there, Molly turned 3, and, in her own words, is no longer "little".  She's big.  She charmed the spurs off of everyone at the ranch.
This month also included a couple of trips to Mt. Baker, where a surprising amount of Spring snow fell, and where we enjoyed hosting some good friends and their kids.  What else?  Molly had her first sprained ankle (recovered in 2 days....) and spent the day with her dad at his school.  And Lucy is reading and writing like crazy, which is highly satisfying to us teacher folks.
That's the latest for now.  Enjoy the pics here:
Later, Curt

Aloha,

Okay, this was a big month, and I got a ton of pictures, the vast majority from our week in Hawaii.  We did everything you'd expect on Maui: we swam in the pool and the ocean, we got sandy on the beach, we explored the island, we played hard with our cousins, and we even fed some goats.  It was an excellent adventure, and both girls were sad to leave.  Lucy has declared for the second year in a row that she will be moving to Hawaii just as soon as we let her out of the house, and Molly  might follow soon thereafter.

It wasn't just Hawaii this month, as Lucy became a famous, published artist (if you count as famous having your Mondrian-style paintings posted in a little cafe on Vashon Island along with her Kindergarten mates' work.)  (BTW: Ms. Stearns, Lucy's Kindergarten teacher is unbelievable.  All K teachers are amazing, but this one broke the mold.  I'm speaking as a parent and as a professional.)

For those just interested in Lucy and Molly's adventures, this gallery should do the trick:
If you'd like to see the much larger Maui gallery, including photos of three generations of Gerstons/Silversteins at play in the sun, check this out:

Well, hello, and happy new year!

The Gerston Girls have had a busy month to start their year, so busy in fact that I had little time to take pictures of them. But I managed to get a few, and the link here will get you to them.

During what became the warmest January in Seattle history (no kidding... and our camelias are already blooming, too), we did our share of playing outside (looking for cold places and snow), dancing and singing inside, and basically just goofing around.  The girls keep getting funnier and more creative, and that makes for good entertainment in the dreary months of winter.

Pics here: http://www.curtgerstonphotography.com/january10/

Enjoy, and hope to see some of you in the new year.

Happy New Year, Everyone!
Just got back this afternoon from our cabin in Glacier, and we're whipped.  So the pictures are a few days late, and this entry will be short: we had a fabulous December, and the holidays were grand.  So there.
Pictures here:
Hoping your 2010 is off to a roaring good start.

Hello,

We hope everyone's holiday season is off to a terrific start.
This month, Lucy began really reading, and as much as she likes reading aloud to us, she truly likes reading to Molly.  It's something to see.
The rain hit this month, and then hit us again, and kept hitting us.  The good news here is that the mountains have had a record start for the ski season, so Lucy's gotten two days in already (for a total of six runs on the rope tow, but still...) and Molly's wearing out the sled.
We hosted our first Thanksgiving at our cabin in Glacier, cooking our first turkey and apple pie (and by we, I mean Laura, who got it all perfect), and had the pleasure of Grandmommy Libby's company to boot.  A grand time.
Here are some shots if you're curious what it all looked like:
Have a happy holidays!
